Player Plot Requests

PLAYER PLOT REQUESTS

To make a request for a player plot, no matter how big or small, this is the place to do it. Most player plots will automatically be accepted. Some might invoke mod inquiry. This page allows all players within the community to keep track of what player plots are being requested. Be sure to communicate effectively with everyone involved, and for player plots concerning larger parties or having open involvement to the community, be sure to post OOC planning posts if necessary.

Please fill out the following form as thoroughly as possible and comment below. You should hear back within 24 hours on your approval status.

Your characters can discover new monsters at any point. Please make sure to make a monster request on the monster request page prior to commenting here if you plan on doing this. This is to ensure that monster replicas are not brought into the game whether through players offering the same creature, or a creature being brought in that I was already planning on.

Monster discoveries made through these requests can happen during any time, regardless of whether or not it is a Horrorshow. Please do not bring in any major monsters as there will probably already be plans made for them in game. Thank you!

Player plots do not need to be horror oriented. They can be just about anything at all. Have fun.

Character(s) involved: Kristoff ([personal profile] arendelicious) and anyone who wants to lick a statue
Closed/Open Plot: It'll be open to whoever actually takes Kristoff up on his offer to lick his statue of Flemmingrad
Content Warnings for Plot: Statue... licking???

Details of Plot: It's just a small, lighthearted thing. In Kristoff's world, there is a holiday dedicated to the heroic troll Flemmingrad and each year they build a statue of him in his honor and you're supposed to lick his forehead for good luck. Kristoff built his own statue here and since trolls usually are the ones to do magic, he wasn't expecting it to actually do anything.

But! Anyone who actually takes him up on his offer and licks the statue's forehead will actually get a moderate amount of good luck for the rest of December. It would be small things mostly, like managing to fix something on the first try when you usually wouldn't be able to or getting to cook a meal right when normally you burn it, or maybe narrowly avoiding slipping on ice, or having someone there to save you at the right time if things are going sideways. It might be able to be brushed off as a coincidence, but it would just be a small something to make people's lives a little easier as a reward for being willing to do something stupidly gross to make some random dude happy.

Character(s) involved: Emerald Sustrai [personal profile] hallucinogem and Ruby Rose [personal profile] clickclickbloom
Closed/Open Plot: Closed, likely only going to spill out among the RWBY cast.
Content Warnings for Plot: Unreality (hallucinations), eye stuff, likely mentions and/or perpetuation of past abuse

Details of Plot: I'm looking to create some sort of persistent warp in Emerald's hallucination powers that leads to her seeing and hearing Cinder Fall, her abuser and the person that she's been trying to sever ties with. It's a test of her will and her conviction that she will ultimately fail as she falls back into old coping mechanisms and becomes a person she thought she'd left behind, at least temporarily. It's going to culminate in Emerald attacking Ruby Rose and removing one of her eyes in a failed attempt on her life, after which point the hallucination will shatter and Emerald will have to deal with the reality of what she's done to her friends.

We're still working out specifics but this may involve Zero (Blake Belladonna's player) playing Cinder for the interim, sort of like when Salem came in to renew her divorce in Rona's player plot. If Zero isn't able to bring her in in a separate journal, I'll likely just treat her as an aspect of Em's narration. Either way, Cinder wouldn't have any actual abilities or powers to worry about since she would only exist within Emerald's head, and Emerald is likely going to remove Ruby's eye with the blade that's already part of her weapon.

As far as timeframe, we're looking to start this in January and don't expect it to spill out too far past then. Everyone can get one good holiday in before the cast goes to hell.

Character(s) involved: Maul [personal profile] survivalthroughhate, close CR, anyone who lives on Griggs Road, and anyone who wants to get hurt or killed during his rampage
Closed/Open Plot: Open to anyone who wants to be involved.
Content Warnings for Plot: Gaslighting, insanity, loss of self.

Details of Plot: Maul tries to contact Sodder mentally in a well-meaning but foolish attempt to try and understand their hostess better, especially after experiencing so many mini-events that haven given insight into her past. It doesn't work, and due to getting at all in the region of the little eldritch horror on a mental level, she fries his mind a little with some feedback, plucking things from his brain that end up affecting the town and Maul personally. At first, he thinks what happened is only the landscape around his house changing to the same as the planet of Dathomir (covering about the length of a a full block including the neighborhood he resides in of Griggs Road.) There will be some of the alien beasts (cw: Second link has a disturbing spider-like alien image) from the planet running around, some friendly and some not, and undead Nightsister zombies that can easily be killed. The dark energy of the planet will be present and Maul will encourage his neighbors to relocate for the duration that the neighborhood is stuck like this, for unless one is a native Dathomirian, they can begin to go insane from the Dark Side of the Force that permeates their minds. For those in the game that use dark energy or are evil beings, this place will give them a temporary power boost when they spend time there, and their minds will not be affected.

What Maul doesn't realize is that his memories of Sidious, one of the things he focuses on the most subconsciously, create a ghost in his mind. At first, he just keeps thinking thoughts that are like those his master would have, and grows a little more snappish and cold with the people around him. But eventually he starts hearing his voice and seeing him everywhere, the ghost having taken on a life of its own, becoming an actual specter haunting Maul. He keeps encouraging Maul to kill people he cares about to prove that he's still a true Sith and to purge himself of his weak nature, since Maul has been struggling with his own identity for a while now as he tries to become a better person. While Maul resists, eventually he's driven crazy by the 24/7 nature of the ghost always whispering that he just gives in. Reverting to the cold and silent assassin persona he had around the time of The Phantom Menace, he goes on a killing spree until someone finally kills him instead, freeing him from the ghost and turning Griggs Road back to normal.

The plot will kick off in February as the neighborhood gets changed with Maul slowly be driven insane over the course of the month and his killing spree will take place at the beginning of March.

Monsters Being Brought In: The Mind Flayer (sort...of??)
Content Warnings for Plot: Possession, potentially exorcism, creepy children.

Details of Plot: Okay so succinctly I took Will from a canonpoint where he was still possessed by the Mind Flayer, and it hadn't been exorcised yet. This hasn't been an issue for the...18 months he's been in-game, but I want to play out the idea that everything that's happened in Deerington (the trauma, the horror, the death, the monstrous transformations) has been slowly but surely strengthening whatever remnants of the monster remained in his head, until it's strong enough to become a separate entity again. This wouldn't be anywhere near the previous canonical strength the monster had (no demodogs for it to control via hivemind, for example), but definitely strong enough to actually start possessing Will again. It won't have any supernatural powers, but it'll be motivated by wanting more horrible things to happen as a way to gain strength.

Eventually Will would be exorcised and/or gain control of the monster somehow -- not positive yet where I want it to go, but I figured I'd get approval of it being there at all before I play it out too in-depth. Thanks!

Monsters Being Brought In: The Ghost of the Prom Queen. Essentially Carrie in ghost form.
Content Warnings for Plot: Hauntings; vengeful/violent ghosts; various methods of violence/death including but not limited to electrocution, immolation, crushing, stampedes/human crushes. A lot of it is down to players.

Details of Plot:

It's Prom Season! Over the last month or so, flyers have been going up about Prom Night for the Seniors of Deerington High. All high school students can attend, with the younger ones welcome as guests. It's a pretty regular prom, maybe a little dated. But very normal and somewhat fun? Man, there's even some pretty cool crowns for the Prom Queen and King, too. They look a little weird but don't worry about them. It's a pretty nice night! People can actually have a little fun! In Deerington? Wild.

That's until she appears. The Ghost of the Prom Queen is an entity of a long-dead student killed on Prom Night due to 'mysterious circumstances' and she is pissed. Pissed at being forgotten, pissed at her death, pissed they're going to give her crown away. The ghost will unleash an attack on the party, in a Carrie style haunting: flinging attendees across the room, crushing them with decorations, electrocuting them, setting fires. It's a blood-bath, really, with plenty of opportunities for characters to be killed.

Characters can try to escape, try to help each other, or try to fight the Prom Queen. She can be temporary halted by usual anti-ghost methods but the only way to truly stop the her is to destroy the Queen's crown, the object she's haunting/source of power. She's been very protective of the object during her attack, allowing players to work out it's importance, and once destroyed — she's defeated.

I'm... also asking for permission to kind of destroy the High School Gymnasium. 👀

Closed/Open Plot: Open plot that anyone could take part in.
Monsters Being Brought In: Corrupted Golem that Sarona is going to build and attempt to anchor using the Obsidian Heart Shard she brought with her.
Content Warnings for Plot: violence, language, potential psychological themes, corruption, mind-altering effects, potential death?

Details of Plot:
Sarona's recent golems she's made in game have not worked properly, due to warping. She intends to use the Obsidian Shard she came into game with to attempt to anchor a new golem. She believes that if she uses something anti-magic to combat whatever magic (she assumes) is influencing hers and causing it to warp, she can cancel out the effect, but she does not realize that the obsidian stone she's carrying around is actually the piece of a heart of a living being and thus putting it into a new body will bring that to life. Basically she will be going Frankenstein without realizing it and she would not realize exactly what is happening with the golem at first as she would be the first person influenced.

But the Soulcarver, the Mystland creature that the shard is from, isn't just anti-magic. It corrupts magic, twisting it and turning it against itself and corrupting whoever is using it to aid in its destructive goals. So the golem's new objective would be going out, appearing some simple golem out there helping people, all the while twisting people who are magical, or use magic, on themselves. It will boost their power and strength, maybe even making them feel like their magic is "better," but at the cost of corrupting them into darker, more obsessive, versions of themselves until they use up all the magic they have and maybe kill themselves in the process. They will become obsessed with their own power and the power of those around them. And when the magical energy is fully corrupted, the golem will feast on it, absorbing it as it is released into the world, turning itself into something more akin to the actual monster the shard comes from, like a copy of it.

People who don't have magic could also be influenced by touching the golem directly and getting a boost as well, temporarily awakening in them a power they've never had before so they can then be consumed by it. But people who don't have magic have a higher immunity against this and have an easier time rejecting the golem's influence.

It can be stopped, by having the shard removed from the golem and put back into a shielded container (the shard can't be destroyed only broken into smaller pieces that will attempt to reunite), but it would have to be done by someone who is either protected in a way that isn't magic, or isn't using magic themselves. Magic can't be the cure to this infection. It will only make it worse and those who use magic within the direct area of effect around the golem could potentially be infected by the shard's influence ten-fold.

I was imagining this plot starting out slow with the effects being lowkey and then influence getting worse over the course of a week or two before players figure out what's causing the changes to people around them. If enough people are effected the golem would be changing and warping itself, becoming more like the Soulcarver itself, stronger, more destructive and hungrier. The golem will not be easy to take down after it reaches a certain stage of its transformation, but it is possible and easier when people are working together.

Not all magical people would have to be effected if they didn't want to do, as they could opt-out and the assumption would be they were never close enough to be affected, or the magic in their world is different enough it wasn't influenced by the Obsidian shard. The nature of the corruption could be unique to each person, but the end result would be them being consumed by power and using that power until they burn out.

Open Plot: Will be open for players to plot with me!
Monsters Being Brought In: Lucifer will be in full control of Sam Winchester for the month of April, and will be mostly unnerfed on and off through the month. I do not plan for him to do anything to anyone without player approval, and he has no interest in destroying any properties, so it shouldn't effect too much of the actual town!
Content Warnings for Plot: Possession, violence/gore.

Details of Plot: This is basically kind of a temporary canon backdate, so to speak. Sam has been working with lore books in Castiel's bunker and thinks he may have a concept for a spell that can de-age him. Lucifer takes full control at the end of March and Sam can't complete the spell, but once he dies and resurrects, he'll take that short window of time while Lucifer's weak again to do the spell and backdate himself.

... Only he overshoots and is ~14 years old now (with only the memories of his 14 year old self, of course).

But hey! Lucifer's gone! For now!

The plan is to have him enter the new game as 14 year old him (and a new mini-Sam account for a while), and eventually the spell will wear off and return him to fully possessed, 2014 Sam Winchester again.

Basically the Hound is a specialized Grimm made out of someone with the same magic eyes as Ruby. Salem will be turning Ruby into one for the duration of the plot and it will be gone afterwards.

Content Warnings for Plot: Kidnapping, Torture, Death, Loss of limbs, Transformation into big spooky monster, Attack by a big spooky monster.

Details of Plot:

- During the last week of March Salem will be kidnapping Ruby Rose to transform her into the Hound. Glitch will catch onto this and try to stop her but will be murdered in the process.

- Once Ruby is monsterfied Salem will be setting her loose to attack members of RWBY cast and anyone else that gets in the way. It will be biting off Oscar Pine's leg during this. (There will be an open prompt on my open post for people to be attacked or fought by the monster.)

- It might end up being soft to Rapunzel and other witches in the game???? It' not a totally awful doggo.

- Ozpin will end up killing Salem on the first of April and Ruby will change back after that.

- Profit?????

Monsters Being Brought In: It's Jurrasic Park Baby (maybe)
Content Warnings for Plot: Species Change Items, Possibly Dinosaur Horror

Details of Plot: This one's not complicated. Larxene's lost her girlfriend and is about to have her house demolished by earthquakes and decides to be an asshole because now Penny's not telling her to behave. Why? Because she's Larxene.

So, she did a Bulk Buy of a heap of Green Apple Suckers from the August 2020 event, which cause people to change species randomly. And when her house gets wrecked, and Penny goes missing, she just decides 'fuck it, why not?'

-She's going to try and sell these for pennies to whoever wants them at a stand that she advertises in the month, surrounded by two dancing sunflowers because that's not creepy at all. That's the easy part.
-She will experiment by sneaking down into the Dinosaur-populated sinkhole with large quantities of meat. She'll jam a sucker into a wad of meat and hurl it at one of the less picky dinosaurs to see if it works.

IF it works, she will absolutely hurl it at a T-Rex and as many compies as she can find to coax them to eat the thing and hopefully transform temporarily into things that can clamber up the ropes she conveniently leaves for them. Why? Because she wants to share the dinosaurs with the top-side world and coaxing them out of the sinkhole before the suckers wear off and they run briefly amok (and possibly fight whatever is underground this month) just sounds like a grand old time.

She may or may not actually take credit for doing this shit.

Obviously she won't have any suckers left when this is done.

Character(s) involved: Vyng Vang Zoomba [personal profile] spiritwalks and Tahcome Dhaume [personal profile] bardbarous
Closed/Open Plot: Open!
Monsters Being Brought In: There will probably be appearances of canon-specific animals (dragons, giant wolves, etc.), but only 1) for short periods of time and 2) within the context of Vyng’s shapeshifting (so they won’t be sticking around).
Content Warnings for Plot: Body horror, possession, disassociation, possible self-sacrifice and/or death

Details of Plot:

Sometime in early May, an influx of spirits from other worlds will suddenly be pouring into Deerington. To the untrained eye, they’re invisible. But spiritually-sensitive sleepers might notice ethereal, incorporeal creatures moving through town.

The spirits are moving with the desperation of somebody who’s drowning, hoping to grab onto a life raft. SOMETHING is drawing them toward a singular point, like a moth to a flame.

Having tumbled into a completely different plane of existence, these spirits need something to anchor themselves to: A beacon whose essence is connected to plants, animals and the elements.

The majority of them find this beacon in the Spiritwalker, Vyng.

Vyng is wholly unprepared for this onslaught, taking massive amounts of spiritual energy into his physical form. His own will is quickly buried under mounds of spirits, desperately hoping to anchor themselves to the Spiritwalker.

He turns into a massive being made of spiritual energy (kind of similar to the Nightwalker in Princess Mononoke) — constantly in flux, highly unpredictable, and very dangerous to anybody who encounters it.

Examples of shapes this form may take

  • Giant bipedal creature

  • A dragon

  • A herd of stampeding animals

  • A windstorm

  • Billowing thunderstorm clouds that can strike with lightning or drop acidic rain on people

  • A large “tree” with an outstretched canopy. But on closer inspection, the outlines of leaves are actually the shapes of animal appendages, reaching out for…help? To pull other spirits into this “life raft”? Hard to say.

Regardless of form, he will still retain:

  • A single glowing amethyst stone that changes shape and size, depending on the form

  • A pair of three slash marks that vaguely look like fish gills

Some things to note:

  • Animals (who aren’t Sleepers), the landscape, naturally-occurring flora (i.e. not magical), will be immune to damage from this thing.

  • It can assume different forms when moving from one part of town to another.

  • At any given time, the monster’s ill-effects will be contained to whatever immediate area it’s inhabiting.

  • Some unlucky Sleepers might get sucked into this large mass of spirits, temporarily losing their identity as their will is subsumed by all these animals. These Sleepers will either need to fight their way out, OR Vyng can try helping them assert their individuality from the inside.

  • Other spiritually-sensitive Sleepers might accidentally get possessed by 1 or 2 creatures at a time

  • Nobody can communicate with Vyng from the outside of the creature. Sleepers are welcome to try, but at their own peril.

Vyng will be difficult to kill in this state, but it’s not impossible. That said, anyone who tries will HAVE to go through Tuck, who’s fiercely protecting his friend with the fury of a thousand suns.

This plot can be resolved in a few different ways…

  • Sleepers can kill him (though it's possible they'll need to incapacitate/kill Tuck to do it)

  • Somebody might opt for figuring out how to suppress his powers temporarily

  • Tuck decides to bring Vyng down himself

FYI: This does contain explicit references to WandaVision, primarily episodes 1x01 and 1x02.

Player(s) leading plot: Jade.
Player(s) Contact(s): PM or jaded#0421.

Character(s) involved: Wanda ([personal profile] explosion).
Closed/Open Plot: Open.
Monsters Being Brought In: Do 1950s/60s sitcom stereotypes count?
Content Warnings for Plot: Mind control; loss of identity; reality warping.

Details of Plot: Elevator pitch: For a week, Deerington's turned black and white and its Sleepers turn into 1950s/1960s sitcom stereotypes.

Since returning from being Blipped for five years, Wanda's been having difficulty in Deerington dealing with the loss of Vision, her brother, some of her team mates, the five years of her life that she's lost, and her depression. To top it all off, she's been tapping into parts of her powers she hadn't used before, and is finding her powers to be as overwhelming as her mental state.

As a result of this (and as preparation for sending Wanda off on a canon update to experience WandaVision), Wanda ends up losing control of her powers due to her bubbling and bottled grief as a result of her asking Scott Lang to open up an envelope Vision left for her. The envelope she'd brought into Deerington contained Vision's will and the details of the land plot he had purchased in Westview. Overcome with grief, guilt and anger, Wanda reality warps Deerington into a black and white 1950s/1960s sitcom (ala the introductory episodes of WandaVision).

Everything is black and white and takes on a mix of 1950s/60s aesthetically. My intention is that the basics of the plot is that the world is black and white (b&w) and characters are dressed/ styled similarly to how characters did in the 1950s/60s sitcoms. I've chosen these two decades as they're both b&w (even though 1950s seems to have a different filter to the 1960s) and the styles might be fun for players to dip their toes in.

I wanted to offer the opportunity for characters to become a sitcom stereotype (i.e. nosy neighbour, doting husband, perfect housewife, clumsy housewife, etc.) and have an alternate life where they believe that they belong in this time and in the life that Wanda has inadvertently created for them. In a nutshell: they forget their history and believe that they are their stereotype and the fake life that they're leading. They'll also speak in the over-the-top way that those sitcom actors used to as well.

If characters are completely submerged into the 1950s/60s where they've taken on a sitcom stereotype and their new alternate life, the way they can break out of this "spell" is by remembering who they are. If they remember themselves via a very important memory or person that means a lot to them, they'll regain who they are and turn colourful once more. (They'll "come to" in their 1950s/60s outfits, which they are welcome to keep.)

Characters can choose to hear this theme song (from WandaVision 1x01), which'll play very low and on repeat on the radio and televisions (on one channel), as a little meta.

OPT-OUT:
• If players don't want to be involved in the plot, then wherever their character is, Deerington will remain unaffected.

• If someone wants to opt-out of having their character affected and remain technicolour but wants to engage with those who are b&w, they will struggle against the colour landscape to create a mishmash where some of the b&w world is coloured and some of the coloured world is b&w and 1950s/1960s influenced (think Pleasantville when it begins to adopt colour). For example, the whole street may be b&w save for the bushes.

The plot runs for an IC week in early May (I was thinking of Sunday 2 May - Saturday 8 May but am happy to move it to the next week) and it'll end when Wanda goes on her canon update at 8pm Deerington time (I'll be submitting a canon update request shortly!).
